The social media part of the promotion invites designers to upload their most creative folder art ideas and share those inspiring organization ideas with the world. The universal variety of typographic, illustrated and photographic ideas and approaches to the art of office paper folders shows right-brain designers at their left-brain best.


Neenah worked with Design Army of Washington, D.C. to create this promotion that features six customized print folders all on CLASSIC®  Paper Cover weight papers Design Army’s print solutions combine Neenah’s rich finish, weights and numerous printing techniques including raised gloss UV coating, metallic inks, fluorescent inks  and laser cutting production techniques.

Editor:  What is one location in your home or office that is always a disorganized mess?

Jake:  Not sure if LIFE counts as an answer; but mine could use some help. But seriously – my entire office is an avalanche of papers and printers samples. I think I need a good intern with a shredder rather than a folder.

Editor: Will any of the folders you created for the promotion going to inspire you to organize that untidy corner of your life?

Jake: I will use the BLACK HOLE folder for everything, just wish we made that one have super wide gussets to hold the endless pile of papers on my desk.

Neenah is betting these print demonstrations of versatility will inspire legions of designers to raise the ante.  The message? Simple, says Tom Wright, senior director of advertising and design for Neenah Paper: the promotion shows how the brand can both inspire creatives: “If they can serve an utilitarian purpose like elevating the desktop folder, imagine what they can do with business collateral from brochures to menus and more,”  Tom says.

The competition runs through April 24, 2013. Facebook follower will vote to select the winner from a gallery of uploaded designs. The winner will receive 200 custom printed folders of their winning design that they can use to decorate or organize their office — or both.

    Great idea. The first time i met with my accountant, he told me i HAD to get the gusseted folder.
    I just needed someone to point that out.
    I feel more productive when i am organized.
