Paper Valentine? Check. Chocolate Cake? Check! Reservations? Er….

Written by in Inspire

 Reservations? Not Necessarily.

This lovely, this brilliant little valentine was designed by A Day in May out of NYC and San Francisco and printed by  Full Circle Press of Grass Valley, CA. These two enterprises fell in love years ago and celebrate their mutual adoration with an annual card that one designs and the other produces and prints. What a perfect marriage.

“Our two teams have worked out so well, we enjoy sending our yearly valentine as an expression of our ‘love’ for what we do and the great relationship we have developed. The extra detail of the spinner is an element that we have wanted to incorporate into a design. Happy Valentine’s Day.” — Judith Berliner of Full Circle Press

Our friend Bryn Mooth offers the other key ingredient for a succcessful Valentines: Chocolate Red Wine Cake. She and her husband are such accomplished cooks and practiced homebodies that they have NO intention of battling the throngs of Cupid-Struck couples at their local restaurants, says Bryn on her blog  Writes4Food

“I don’t know about you, but I’m planning to spend Valentine’s Day with my beloved (of 25 years, ifyoucanbelieveit) right here at home, glass of California bubbly in hand. We enjoy cooking so much—and enjoy cooking together—that it’s a treat to make something just a little fancy on a weeknight.” — Bryn Mooth, Writes4 Food

Thanks so much for sharing the Valentine and we’re glad you liked it! We had an absolute blast working on this with Full Circle Press. And, I’m definitely going to have to try out the chocolate red wine cake :).

We are delighted to share that nice card and hope you and Full Circle will send us more. That cake? The Bomb! I gave it to four friends Bryn’s blog post prompts. It is a lot of fun and super easy Midwestern classic recipes all the time. But that cake is amazing! I used Cabernet as I had some and it was rich and yummy. (signed Matthew Porter, Editor/Writer)
