It’s Starting to Feel Like HOW Design Live

Written by in Events

The Exhibit Hall Opens for Business

The thing that HOW Design Live has over all of the other design conferences? Size and options. And nowhere does that become more evident than when they open up the exhibition hall after the opening speaker.

I guess it also becomes evident in the fact that the opening speaker is a day and a half into the conference itself. If you haven’t yet caught up, Bennett Holzworth is also reporting from the conference on Against the Grain, and has already written a behind the scenes from volunteering this weekend, as well as a great recap on some day one speakers.

Neenah Paper is once again giving out a few posters while here. Above is Justin Ahrens of Rule29 doing a signing just over an hour ago.

I may have arrived in Boston a bit later than Bennett, but still got to see the Neenah Paper booth just before the doors opened Tuesday night. In just over an hour, all of the bags were gone.

The second Neenah booth just before a huge line started to run the letterpress.

Actually, I’m not sure why there were two people walking the hall in stilts – but it was different to see Stefan Mumaw not being the tall one in the room. It also added to the fun atmosphere that is created when a couple thousand creatives get in the same room.

HOW has really brought in some big name speakers this year, and I thankfully got the chance to interview one of them for my podcast, The Reflex Blue Show. Above is me with Bob Gill.
