Kate Zaremba’s Instrumental Take on the Capitol

If you’re looking for the art scene in Washington, D.C. just ask Kate Zaremba, she’ll tell you … or give you a visual clue at least. Design Army was inspired by this illustrator/designer’s background (she worked with Jonathan Adler), and thought she’d contribute a unique vision to the Neenah Future Classic promotion. Zaremba channeled her experience in textile patterns to design a visual guide to her favorite places to find creative inspiration in D.C. She used hand-cut pieces of CLASSIC® papers and hand drawings to create a collage of 14 icons which hint at those spaces.

The final piece uses black and fluorescent pink ink with gold foil. And the woman in the lower right corner, representing the Shakespeare Theater Company, is diecut and tipped on.
