Fresh Takes on Classic Type

Written by in #ClassicNeenah

It’s Typography Psychology 101: the way you present your message is just as important as the message itself. From the ubiquitous :) to illuminated manuscripts to structural serifs, designers and communicators have always used any means necessary to give weight to their words. Lucky for us, the digital technology now at our fingertips means what was old can be new again and what’s brand new can include tens of thousands of characters in a single typeface.

When Neenah reached out to Willoughby Design with the idea to collaborate on a project that combined classic and contemporary typefaces with the beautiful whites, signature colors, and textures of CLASSIC® Papers, the result was BOLD.

Starting next week we will feature content from Fresh Takes on Classic Type, but until then here’s a peek at the papers and the characters featured in our newest CLASSIC Papers promotion.

Six striking typefaces, from digital/analog hybrids to modular DIY masterpieces, are matched up with over a dozen distinctive colors and textures from the four CLASSIC brands. Fresh Takes on Classic Type is an interactive promotion that shows how typeface and CLASSIC Papers can combine to create a message you have to see–and feel–to believe.

I came across your stunning promotion piece: Neenah Fresh Takes on Classic Type designed by the Willoughby Design Agency at an interior design blog. At any rate, I would very much like to purchase a copy to give to my publishing clients for looking into using Neenah papers in our books. I did take the time to call the number listed on your contact page, and your representative spent a good 15 minutes with me to see where I might order a copy but to no avail. As a book designer, I do not have paper reps as my publishing clients are the buyers of paper through through our printers, thus stopping me from contacting a Neenah paper rep.

I would very much appreciate your assistance in helping me to obtain a copy of this promotional piece. I can also be contacted via phone at 858-244-6250.

Thank you in advance for your kind assistance.

    Sincerely,
    Debra McQuiston

Kirk: Apologies. I have not checked the comments in too long. I will send this request to the people who can do this—if there are samples left.

Nicola. Apologies. I have not checked the comments in too long. I will send this request to the people who can do this—if there are samples left. When they have ample supplies they normally do not mind sending copies along assuming you cannot find one from a local merchant. Given your location, I would bet that would be difficult.

Debra, The blog has been quiet for a few months and I neglected to check the comments log. I will forward your message to a special person at Neenah who can send you copy if there are still printed samples remaining. Your offer to share it with your clients means a lot to us. Let me see what I can do. matt porter, editor of against the grain.
